Tour de Cure - June 14
National Capital Tour de Cure on Sunday June 14, 2009, Reston - hosted by the American Diabetes Association. The 2009 Tour de Cure welcomes close to 2,000 area cyclists to raise funds for diabetes research and awareness. The American Diabetes Association needs your special volunteer support to make this event a success!
We are currently looking for Bike Marshals to support and guide Tour de Cure participants. Volunteers ride FREE!The responsibilities of all Tour marshals include: Patrol ride route from Start to Finish Control conduct of participants Control participants at congested or dangerous intersections Provide Basic First Aid and CPR as needed (if certified) Contact Cell Phone Coordinator for Medical Emergencies, other safety issues, or transport of Riders when necessary Report sighting of Last Riders for each routeThe American Diabetes Association greatly appreciates our volunteers' hard work and dedication. To show our gratitude, all volunteers will receive a free lunch and a special commemorative t-shirt. We are extremely appreciative of your volunteer support in prior years and we hope you are willing to do it again. In addition to this, all Tour de Cure volunteers who register before May 1, 2009 will have a chance to win a $100 gift certificate to Café Deluxe in Tysons Corner, Bethesda and Washington DC.
