Don’t forget our annual Club meeting is coming up November 20th from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. The meeting will be held at Bertucci's Brick Oven Ristorante, 13195 Parcher Ave, Herndon.The menu will include a choice of salads and specialty pizzas. Part of the fun will include cycling-related door prizes and prizes for service to the Club in the past year. At the meeting we’ll be electing our board for the coming year. The following positions will be up for election at the meeting: Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Century Chair, and 2 at-large board positions. This is your chance to become a leader in the RBC. We all hope to see you there.

Back to School Cycling for the Family McLean, Virginia (July 1st, 2006)—Best Buddies Virginia has partnered with Lockheed Martin to host the Lockheed Martin/ Best Buddies Virginia Back-to-School Friendship Ride on Saturday, September 9th at the Reston Town Center Pavilion.

Weekly rides restart!

The club's weekly evening rides will restart in March. The Tues/Thurs rides begin on 10 Mar and the Wed social rides will restart on 1 Apr.

CSC Invitational - Volunteers Needed

As you know, the CSC Invitational is one of Northern VA's premier cycling events and it features PRO cycling races that draw big names in cycling. If you have attended this event, you know that it is a very exciting event.

Thurs- May 31 ONLY - Ride starts in Reston

Due to the Herndon Festival setup and detours, the May 31 Thursday evening ride will start at Hunters Woods Shopping Center in Reston (normal Tues location). The Jun 7 ride (and all other Thursdays) will start in Herndon.

The Wild Goose Chase, a women's bike ride is being held in Cambridge, Maryland at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge on Sunday, April 27. Cambridge is on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

Harpers Ferry to Reston - Overnight Camping event- April 4-5, 2009

This ride was originally scheduled to begin on Friday, April 3. Due to rain, the ride will start on Saturday, April 4. Enjoy a two day, overnight camping bike ride. The ride starts at historic and scenic Harpers Ferry, West Virginia where we begin cycling on the C&O Canal bike path and covers three states; WV, MD, and VA. A great ride for novice or experienced cyclists. Bring your family, friend or just yourself.

Reston Bicycle Safety Rodeo - May 9

On Saturday, May 9th from 1 – 4 PM the Reston Association will hold its 14th annual Bicycle Safety Rodeo. The event will be held at North Point at the Lake Newport Recreational Center pool parking lot. This is just east of Reston Avenue on Lake Newport Road. RBC will be assisting in this annual event. Volunteers are welcome to help inspect children's bicycles, do light repairs and adjustments and fit helmets.

Bike-to-Work Day May 15

This year’s bike to work day is scheduled for Friday, May 15, 2009. Put on by the Washington Area Bicycle Association (WABA), bike to work day encourages bicycle commuting as a viable way to get to work.

Cyclefest is back! This year The Bike Lane is hosting Cyclefest on Saturday, June 6, 8AM- 4PM at Lake Fairfax Park in Reston, VA on National Trails Day!
