Friendship Ride at Reston Town Center Pavilion
The event will be a cycling ride with 32 and 12 mile course options
on the Washington and Old Dominion Trail. Check-in
begins at 6:30am and activities continue throughout the morning.
The cycling race is open to all skill levels and age groups
to promote friendship, fitness and fun while raising awareness
of BBVA chapters in Northern Virginia high schools, middle
schools and colleges during the new school year.
Reston Bicycle Club has enthusiastically offered their support
to BBVA during the event lending sage advice and their cycling
expertise. During the event the club will ride along with community
members. Vienna based Spokes Etc. bicycle shop will
be available during the event to give cycling demos and provide
safe cycling information. Also, Team Best Buddies Virginia
cyclists, who participate in the Volvo Hyannis Port 90 Mile
Challenge, in Boston, MA will ride the race to demonstrate how
cycling with BBVA has positively impacted their lives.
Early registration for the cycling race, August 1-September 2nd
is $25; same day registration is $35. Register on-line at

.Children under 10 are FREE.The 32 mile ride will begin promptly at 7:15 am and the 12
mile ride will begin at 7:45 am. Both courses will have rest and
water stations along the way supported by BBVA volunteers to
ensure safety for all riders. Starbucks will provide a delicious
breakfast after the ride with pavilion events ending at noon.
