Reston Bicycle Safety Rodeo - May 9
On Saturday, May 9th from 1 – 4 PM the Reston Association will hold its 14th annual Bicycle Safety Rodeo. The event will be held at North Point at the Lake Newport Recreational Center pool parking lot. This is just east of Reston Avenue on Lake Newport Road.
RBC will be assisting in this annual event. Volunteers are welcome to help inspect children's bicycles, do light repairs and adjustments and fit helmets.
The activities are limited to children from 5 to 12 years of age. Activities include bicycle safety inspections as well as teaching children basic riding and safety skills including:

Mounting and Dismounting•
Circling and Changing Directions•
Straight Line Control•
Weaving and Maneuvering•
Stopping Ability•
Short Radius Turning•
Slow Speed ControlChildren can bring their own bicycle and helmet, but some will be provided for the purpose of completing of the course. Children who complete the course will earn their license.
